Workers Compensation
The workers' compensation laws provide monetary compensation to pay for medical expenses and to replace income lost as a result of injuries or illnesses that arise out of employment. If the employer does not challenge a claim, the insurance company will make payment for medical bills and wages to the employee. If the employer contests a claim, a hearing is scheduled and evidence relating to the circumstances of the injury and the extent of the injury is presented.
